Military Macaw
Resident of The Landing Zone since September 2012
Kelly is a military macaw. He was a trained commercial parrot from the Los Angeles “compound”. He lived with the Windex birds and a giraffe, as well as other creatures. When he became untrainable, he was placed with a couple who raised mostly small birds, but he was a threat to them after a couple months, so we took him in. He chews his wings, likely as they trimmed these and he’d never had that done before, so we’re hopeful he will stop and let all the feathers grow back.
