Aviary Building Fund
We have currently moved to three beautiful acres at the foot of the Santa Rosa mountains in Thousand Palms, California- just ten minutes away from downtown Palm Springs, and central to the Coachella Valley!
The TLZPS Aviary Building Fund is set aside solely for the purpose of building permanent, free-flight aviaries for the parrots of The Landing Zone. The funds will be used to cover construction materials and labor and will follow our plans to build an authentic, nature-inspired avian environment. Keep track of our progress on our Official Facebook Page.
The parrots at The Landing Zone will never be resold or readopted so every parrot that becomes a part of our flock will be a resident of this shelter for life, a true Sanctuary environment with an ever-growing flock- which means we need lots of flight and perch space!
Our goal is to create a permanent home for pre-homed parrots who otherwise would have been continually readopted and placed home to home. We try to give the parrots a happy, stress-free, healthy life.
The building plan is set up to create an avian and human friendly setting so the birds can enjoy time in a maintained environment for the public to observe. The habitat created will be a mirror of the birds' natural environments.
Other plans include educational tours, pictures, and engaging activities for children and the general public including the addition of a veterinarian on staff and caretakers on hand (see Raymond's Fund);
