Umbrella Cockatoo

After much debate and many conversations, the owners of Baby, an umbrella cockatoo, called in December 2011 to have us pick her up in Apple Valley. They had been told by the neighbors she was too loud, even though they lived on a small acreage, and then the owners of the house she had lived in lost the home so Baby’s owners had to move to an apartment where she couldn’t live.
At first she chased and bit at almost everyone, but she is now an angel who loves to play with MegaBlocks, listen to music (she makes up words and sings along), be held, and play with a blanket. She does the most acrobatic shows of any of the parrots, swinging upside down and doing flips with her feathers and crown extended. She is sweet and beautiful, with the tiny, high and soft voice of an angel. She says “hello baby, I love you”.
